What is new in codeBeamer 7.4?

codeBeamer 7.4 is released! We developed great features to provide users with unlimited flexibility to show dependencies between all tracker types and advanced filtering for easier querying and quicker access to information.

Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- The easy-to-use and easy-to-filter GUI of the new Project Browser enables users to categorize projects by colors based on their status. It saves users time when searching for relevant projects and checking project status. With the new Project Planner we launched two filtering panels to provide users with easier querying and quicker access to information and comments attached to issues. One of the most outstanding features of version 7.4 is the Traceability Browser that provides users with unlimited flexibility to show dependencies between all tracker types including requirements, bugs, issues, tasks, change requests, etc. IT Operations can also greatly benefit from the new version. codeBeamer 7.4 provides IT Operations with the enhanced feature to select issues and set escalation rules.

Project Browser of codeBeamer 7.4 has been redesigned with advanced filtering. The new Project Browser has an easy-to-use and easy-to-filter GUI. Now users can categorize projects in addition to differentiating and filtering projects by colors based on their status. All users can add and set up working sets to display the projects they most frequently work with. The filter tab is available at the left hand side of the project browser, allowing users quick access to filtering options and categories. The visual layout of the project list has also been enhanced. In the default view, all projects are listed as icons. By clicking on the project name, a pop-up box will appear, showing all relevant information like project activities, burn down charts, and sprint status. Under working sets, each user can create categories and add the projects they are accessing or working on most frequently.  The new project browser provides easier filtering and enhanced, user-friendly visualization for on-going projects. These enhancements save users time when searching for relevant projects and checking project status.

In the new improved Project Planner, Intland Software launches two filtering panels for easier querying and quicker access to information and comments attached to issues.

The Project Planner now contains clickable icons to facilitate the filtering and selection of:

•          Release/sprints tree

•          Team commitment – filter by project member and display assigned tasks

•          Relationship between user stories and requirements – match them by colors

The left hand side-filtering panel allows users to list all issues added to the selected release or sprint. Select by the names of team members (under the commitment filter), and all issues assigned to the team members will be displayed. The last filter shows requirements attached to certain user stories. The different colors of each user story help to visually identify the user story-requirements/issue relations in the query.

The right hand side icons contain:

•          Details of all attributes related to the selected issue

•          Description of the selected issue

•          Comments added to the selected issue

The new project planner offers a user-friendly and visually advanced support tool for development leaders, Scrum Masters, and project managers as well as for all other team members to enable faster access to information.

One of the most outstanding features of version 7.4 is the Traceability Browser. This feature differentiates codeBeamer from all other ALM tools as it gives unlimited flexibility to show dependencies between all tracker types including requirements, bugs, issues, tasks, change requests, etc.

The drag-and-drop feature allows users to select a tracker type and the relations to display. The Traceability Browser shows all dependencies across different projects. Suspected links are also visible in the dependency matrix. The result of the dependencies query can be exported into an Excel sheet.

Advantages for IT Operations in codeBeamer 7.4

Escalation in the Kanban board ensures a new opportunity for IT operations to select issues and set escalation rules. Issues can be filtered in the Kanban board and their escalation status is immediate viewable. This new feature provides managers and IT operations staff members with quicker access to information and issues in escalation. It can be further filtered by accounts (clients).
