By: Imbesi Christensen The Honorable Maura Gregory issued an award in favor of the firm's client after an in-person hearing was conducted. The decision overruled a determination by the Department of Labor that the employee was not entitled to unemployment insurance benefits because he voluntarily separated from his employment without good cause. Specifically, the decision set forth the following: DECISION: The initial determination, disqualifying the claimant from receiving benefits…is overruled. The claimant is allowed benefits with respect to the issues decided herein. Judge Gregory determined that Mr. Fingerhut successfully proved that the employee voluntarily separated from his employment with good cause.
