By: Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge When: Sunday, October 19th, 2014 from 12:00pm – 5:00pm Where: Carolina Pines Park (2305 Lake Wheeler Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603) The Triangle VegFest, presented by Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge and sponsored by Whole Foods, Maggie’s Conscious Vegan Cuisine, Fiction Kitchen, VegFund and Yelp, will feature a variety of interactive events throughout the day. Dozens of vendors will be represented at the event, in addition to health-conscious restaurants, animal sanctuaries and other local businesses. Cloud Massage is offering free ten minute massages and Medical Qigong Practitioner Michael Hronas is leading Tai Chi classes. “We’re really excited about finally having a VegFest in Raleigh,” says lead organizer Helene Greenberg. “People are looking for ways to integrate healthier eating choices into their diets, and this will be a great opportunity to find out about resources right here in the community.” Speakers will include nationally known animal advocate Gene Baur of Farm Sanctuary, vegan bodybuilder Erin Fergus, Justin Van Kleeck of Triangle Chance for All, Karen Davis of United Poultry Concerns, and Dilip Barman of the Triangle Vegetarian Society. Festivities will also include live music, yoga with instructor Jay Friedenthal and a live cooking demonstration by a local chef.
