SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Sept. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce is happy to highlight key events that keep visitors coming into the Long Beach Island Region of the Jersey Shore throughout the fall. With Halloween happenings, festive fundraisers and cultural classics. Start the season with an artist’s perspective on the changing season, with SwellColors Glass Studio’s Harvest collection. A stained glass tour of 85 days of autumn inspired by surf, sun and nature. You can visit the Glass Studio & Art Gallery in Haven Beach to view and purchase the panels. Enjoy a night on the town with a Murder Mystery Dinner at Carmen’s Beach Haven on Friday Oct 10 brings aspiring actors from Temple University to Long Beach Island for “Who Killed the Singing Waiter” night of entertainment and full course dinner. Head to the mainland as Stafford celebrates the harvest with Stafford Township Historical Society’s Time Traveler’s Ball held at the Holiday Inn Ballroom Friday October 17 with dinner, dancing and auction or take in a day in the park with the Stafford Township Fall Harvest & Wine Festival Oct 18 and 19 at Manahawkin Lake Park.

Lighthouse enthusiasts can take our two regional landmarks by storm during the Lighthouse Challenge of NJ Oct 18 and 19 running Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 8am to 6pm at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park and at the Tuckerton Seaport. Special lighthouse displays and programs run all weekend as well. Things begin to get creepy at when Pirate ghosts, sea witches and other creatures from the deep take over Tuckerton Seaport for three nights of the Haunted Seaport October 23-25 6pm to 9pm.  A LBI Region premiere of the musical Bat Boy presented by Bellarine Theatre Company hosted by the LBI Foundation Oct 23 and 24. The Jersey Shore Boys Scouts and Southern Ocean Rotary present the Zombie Outbreak and Hayrides at the Citta Reservation in Waretown during Operation Halloween Oct 24 and 25. For something different for your favorite trick or treaters, head to the LBI Foundation in Loveladies for a Halloween Truck or Treat on Thursday October 30.
