Allegations Within the Complaint Bronx resident, Raymond P., was a passenger in the front seat of his co-worker's automobile, wearing his seatbelt and otherwise at all times in full compliance with the laws on August 7, 2014. Raymond noticed a marked NYPD vehicle near Grand Concourse and 188th Street, and the police vehicle started to follow them. Next, the NYPD vehicle signaled for the vehicle that Raymond was a passenger in to pull over to the side of the road. Although Raymond had not done anything wrong, an NYPD officer approached Raymond and demanded his identification. As he was searching for his ID, an NYPD officer yanked the passenger side door of the automobile open and demanded Raymond's ID a second time, apparently impatient. Thereafter, the officer took out a pair of handcuffs, threatened to "lock him up" and proceeded to take Raymond's seatbelt off of him. Raymond then asked that the officer call another officer to witness the way he was being treated and this resulted in Plaintiff being handcuffed. Raymond was arrested and brought to the 46th precinct for processing. After spending about 23 hours at Central Booking, Raymond appeared before a Criminal Court judge, where he learned for the first time that he was being criminally charged with two counts of resisting arrest. At arraignment, the matter was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal, ACD. Michael Redenburg represents Raymond and maintains an office at 150 Broadway, Rm. 808, NY, NY 10038. 212-240-9465 www.mjrlaw-ny.com Attorney Advertising End
