SAN MIGUEL, Argentina - Sept. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- ABATEC SA, an engineering company specialized since the 2002 year in technology for distributed production of biodiesel fuel,  introduces the SAVOIA BD4-MG system, to manufacture dry Methanol from the raw glycerine.

It is an innovative way for adding value to the glycerol produced in the biodiesel plants, which is often discarded, burned or sold at very low price.

The SAVOIA BD4-MG system is a simple and safe process to treat 1000 L/day (250 gal/d) of glycerol, for getting around 35% of dry methanol, 25% FFA and a balance of glycols. The only inputs are water and power.

The Methanol and FFA's can be added to the alcoholysis reaction . The remaining glycols may be sold as fuel additive or used to formulate chemical compounds. This revenue and the methanol savings will reduce the biodiesel production cost.

With this new and affordable equipment, ABATEC SA improves its technological line for adding value to the glycerol, as the company also offers the proven BD2-G reactor to convert 100% glycerol in cattle feed.
