Sopra becomes the most active consultancy firm in the UK

London, UK - On July 22nd 2014, leading provider of corporate health and wellness initiatives iGlobalWellness announced the results of the Sopra Stay Active Challenge. The conclusions make Sopra the most active consultancy organisation on record.

Aug. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- From February to April 2014, leading European consulting, systems integration and application solutions company Sopra played host to the Stay Active Challenge as part of its commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees. Throughout this unique corporate event employees in the UK wore the iAM, the latest in activity monitor technology, and competed to increase their activity levels as much as possible over a 9-week challenge.

On average Sopra UK employees increased their activity levels by a life changing 102%, making them significantly more active than the previous consultancy sector leader Deloitte. During the Challenge, Sopra employees collectively burnt 16 million calories, equivalent to over 36,000 Big Macs.

The company’s managers were impressed by the way the Challenge helped bring employees together across the company and foster a culture of friendly competition. HR Advisor Kate Haley, responsible for organising and leading the Sopra Challenge, said “Participating in the Stay Active Challenge was a great initiative for Sopra. It encouraged an increase in daily activity, wellbeing and friendly competition between the offices. This was a team based challenge and it really facilitated colleagues coming together to achieve a common goal”.

The inventively named winning team, Weapons of Mass Reduction, achieved an outstanding 445% increase in daily activity and the individual winner, Lukasz Grabinski, increased his activity levels by over 1000%.

David Moorcroft, iGlobalWellness' Chairman said – “Sopra's huge achievements in the Stay Active Challenge are testament to how simple and effective incorporating activity into daily routine can be. The significant increases in daily activity levels illustrate that every activity counts and that everybody, no matter what their current fitness level, can benefit from the Stay Active Challenge. iGlobalWellness would like to say a huge thank you and well done to everybody at Sopra for the outstanding effort they put into the Challenge. It is fantastic to see how they have incorporated such positive changes into their daily routines and we wish them all the best with their new healthier lifestyles.”
