Fun Program Shows Kids How to Deal with Bullies

Rob Wilson's "Bully, Back Off!" program empowers kids to stop bullies peacefully.

ATLANTA - Aug. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Robert Evans Wilson, Jr., author of The Annoying Ghost Kid (a humorous children's novel about two living kids who are bullied by a ghost) has launched a campaign to create awareness of his Bully, Back Off! program that teaches elementary school kids to deal with bullies.

Most schools have a “No Bullying” policy. Some schools even offer an Anti-Bullying program. The problem with most of these policies and programs is that they do not teach kids how to stand up to a bully. They teach victims to avoid bullies and to tattle on them. Realistically this only perpetuates the problem.

The typical Anti-Bullying program tries to teach kids not to be bullies. Rob Wilson applauds these efforts, but suggests that they will always fall short because it is the victim who needs to learn not to be a victim. The victim is NOT to blame, but the unfortunate fact of reality is that bullies do not pick on strong confident people. The strong and confident are left alone because the bully himself feels weak and insecure. It is the attacking of someone weak and defenseless that makes the bully feel powerful.

Rob Wilson's Bully, Back Off! program gives potential victims the mental tools they need to halt a bully attack in its tracks. His techniques are simple-to-use and easy-to-remember, so that when a bully attacks, the victim will not panic and will be able to resolve it peacefully.

Many elementary schools have expressed interest in Bully, Back Off!, but do not have the funds to bring Rob in. In order to assist these schools, he has launched a crowd-funding campaign. For more details see: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/bully-back-off. Wilson hopes to raise $5000 in order to share Bully, Back Off! with many children as possible.

Bullying is not going away. It is endemic to our society. We live in a system that encourages and rewards bullies. The younger a child learns to stand up to bullies the better. It is easier for kids to learn when they are young before they develop a victim mentality. Bully, Back Off! serves this need.
