Allegations Within the False Arrest Complaint In the early evening of April 3, 2013, Danyell had just finished lawfully parking his automobile on Jamaica Avenue when he was approached by an unknown male. The unknown male individual started banging on the driver's side window of Danyell's car which alarmed Danyell, especially in light of the fact that the man was not wearing an NYPD Officer uniform and did not show a badge or other police identification. Thereafter, Danyell complied with the plain clothes officer's instructions and exited the car. Numerous officers descended on the scene and they began rummaging through his car. Next, an impermissible search of Danyell's person took place which revealed that Danyell had a utility knife in his pocket that he had been using to put bike tape on his bicycle. He was then placed under arrest. After an extended stay at the police precinct, Danyell was taken to Central Booking for arraignment and then transported to Riker's Island. Following a short stint at Riker's, Danyell was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and then Bellevue Hospital - all against his will. At the next court date, about 30 days later, the false criminal charge and trumped-up VTL charge against him were dismissed. Michael J. Redenburg, Esq. represents Danyell and has represented dozens of other victims of police misconduct as well. www.mjrlaw-ny.com 212-240-9465 150 Broadway, Room 808 New York, NY 10038 Attorney Advertising End
