Narrated Abu Salama (May Allah be pleased with him):

“I asked Abu Saeed (May Allah be pleased with him) about the Night of Qadar and he said, “We practiced Itikaf in the middle third month of Ramadan with Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). In the morning of the 20th of Ramadan, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to and addressed us and said, ” I was informed of the date of the Night of Qadar, but I was caused to forget it, or I forget, so search it in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan.”

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were talking about Laila-TUL-Qadar in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and he said:

“He who amongst you remembers (the night) when the moon arose and it was like a piece of plate (at the far end of the month in a state of waning).”

In another Hadith Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

"Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform Itikaf (retreat) for ten days every Ramadan, then when it was the year in which he was taken (died), he performed Itikaf (retreat) for twenty days.

Laila-TUL-Qadar’s essentiality:

·         It is the night when the Quran was revealed.

·         It is the night when the Message sent to Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him) started.

·         It is the night when the light that would illuminate mankind to the end of life, started.

·         It is the night when every matter of ordainment is decreed.

Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

There is a night (during this month) which is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its good is really deprived (of something great).
