The Swedish /Scandinavian inspired Living Room is designed by Carlos Adharsingh of Chambray Avenue. According to Carlos, “this design style has a warm look, graphic contrast, white and bright colors of yellow, red, rich blue with splashes of color around the room. Scandinavians have a love of natural materials, a warm look of whites and browns. The floor in my Living Room is done in a bold graphic to contrast the minimal design of the other furnishings” Libby Marx of Interior Decorating International has created the design for the Outdoor Living space with a flair towards France by using some of the romantics in French interior design. “The French are very romantic, says Libby. I wanted to make this Outdoor Living space very intimate for two people by including an inviting Chaise and adding dining just for two. I feel the best way to achieve this is with draperies. The draperies using stripped panels in a waterfall will lend themselves to the intimate romantic feel of the room. Total Window®created the draperies for this room and built a special scalloped fabric covered canopy in a floral print with the stripped sheers, which give a light and delicate feel to this Outdoor Living space, which is just what I wanted the room to exude.” Libby feels “draperies give a feeling of completion, elegance, stability and mood. They are critical to all design”. The installation was going to be a bit tricky, say Libby, but the install tech from Total Window®devised a creative mounting solution between two of the rooms that saved the day for me and my design.” The Russian Master Suite, designed by Ines Neuhaus of Neuhaus Designs has tapped into her interest in Russian history, culture, furnishings and way of life. “The Russian culture has used a special stone” says Ines, “called Lapis Lazuli, a rich dark blue stone with white veins” This stone and color known as Prussian Blue was found in the 18th century and was used as a pigment to color paint. Even Ines’ Russian clients like to use this color in their own home interiors. For the Russian Master Suite in the Designer Showcase Ines uses this Prussian Blue color in a unique way, on walls of the Master Suite with a special hand-painted gold graphic that gives the room an opulent feel which is a constant theme in Russian interior design. Ines said that she “wants to bring the lusciousness and splendor of the Russian era at its peak into her design”. She has even included her theme of Russian opulence with the draperies, displayed in four very lush rich fabrics. The special valance was needed, so Total Window® designed a custom valance to fit the window in the Russian Master Suite and wrapped it in a thick gold brocade fabric that sets off the Prussian Blue draperies Jesse Stolow, COO of Total Window® “likes to work with designers who are new to Total Window®.
