Musical Stealth Puzzle Game, A.V., launches Kickstarter

Quirky New Independent Stealth Puzzle Game Fuses Music with Light

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - July 16, 2014 - PRLog -- By Doug Lynn

The A.V. Team, a small group of independent game developers working out of Rochester, New York, have announced the Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming stealth-puzzle video game, A.V.  This fundraiser session follows the recent initiation of the game's distribution campaign through the Steam Greenlight service.  The Kickstarter fundraiser, according to the developers, is intended to transfer the former student project into a commercial game to be released later this year.

A.V. itself is based around the premise of using sound in order to visualize the surrounding world.  This visualization, in the form of bright, glowing edges, couples together with a musical motif.  The result is an entire world that moves along to a rhythm.  The game's presentation is tied into a stealth mechanic, meaning that players must maintain a balance between seeing the world while avoiding being seen themselves.

Over the course of its development and its ongoing Greenlight campaign, the game has been touted by players and other developers for its clever concept and striking art style.  Earlier in the year, a preliminary version of A.V. was presented at RPI Gamefest 2014 in Rensselaer, New York, where a panel of judges from development studio Vicarious Visions granted it the award for Excellence in Sensory Experience.

"We're looking to capitalize on the success we've seen [at Gamefest]," says the project's producer, Preston Johnson.  "There's definitely an appeal that people are picking up on, and we're trying to take advantage of that appeal in the Kickstarter, especially on the visual side."

The A.V. Kickstarter requires that a minimum of $5,500 be pledged by August 8th in order for the project to receive funding.  Additional project features are planned at each subsequent $5,000 raised, up to a maximum of $30,000.

A.V. is planned for a release on PC, Mac, and Linux in October.
