By: Go Eat Give Often called the rainbow island, Trinidad has one of the most diverse populations in the world, as a result of colonization and labor importation. There is a wide range of ethnicity, religion, and culture centering on Roman Catholic (http://en.wikipedia.org/ The event will feature traditional Trinidad cuisine, music and culture. A buffet dinner showcasing 18 authentic dishes will be served. Guests will be able to taste East Indian, Africa, Spanish, Chinese and Caribbean flavors that influence the island’s gastronomy. Alan Nottingham, former president of the Trinidad and Tobago Association will present Trinidad’s society, culture and economy in his keynote speech. Trinidad cultural ambassador and stand up comedian, Nigel Fabien will be the master of ceremonies. The evening will conclude with a performance of Tassa steel drumming and Carnival costumes. Tickets for Destination Trinidad are $35.00 and include dinner, speaker, entertainment and a donation to Go Eat Give.
