Contact Group and Edukey form partnership to release new software for schools

Class Charts, an online system for managing class seating and behaviour, and School Robins, an information gathering tool for school leaders and teachers, will now be sold by Contact Group.

Research shows that when carefully crafted seating charts are in effect, teachers are twice as successful at reaching students and the attainment of lower ability students is doubled.

Class Charts uses student photographs to create rich plans which are compatible with any web enabled device. Class Charts identifies students who may need additional support or belong to a target group such as free school meals. It is a points-based system which allows the teacher to involve and reward students.

Classes can be rearranged to group students according to name, behaviour, ability, gender or any other factor. The system works intelligently to minimise disruption, using behaviour data to highlight pupils who interact negatively with each other.

School Robins allows an individual to request information on a specific student, group or topic, and collates replies into reports.

Adrian Bristow from Sir John Gleed School said: “I have been using Class Charts for some months now and I think it is great. I work with some challenging students and Class Charts has helped me track their behaviour and involve parents.

“The seating chart aspect has been a godsend. Easily being able to identify Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and students with low literacy skills has helped me target support and ensure their needs are met.”
