A step in the right direction to reducing mass failure in Nigeria

MELBOURNE, Fla. - May 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Frontline Television Limited is proud to partner with TEPNG and leaders in the Egi Community to implement The 123 of Maths interactive media program into schools to raise the standard of education, combat mass failure in standardized test scores and build a brighter future for the children of Nigeria.

A two-day workshop was held in the Egi community in Nigeria to show teachers the benefits of instructional media in the classroom. The workshop provided the teachers with the foundation to begin implementing new lesson plans that will integrate technology into the classrooms.  In Nigeria where mass failure in education is an epidemic, many shareholders agree a change has to be made to turn the educational system around.

TEPNG is committed to the economic empowerment of Nigeria's people, a key factor toward sustainable development.  TEPNG is participating in laying the groundwork for a better quality of life in Nigeria: for human development, health, infrastructural development and agriculture.

Total E&P Sustainable Development Department has joined the fight against mass failure in education.  In 2013 they began an incentive to raise the standards in education at the primary school level. Students and teachers are in desperate need of modern methods of instruction and teaching aids that build proficiency in mathematics.

Education is the foundation to empowerment and sustainable development in any economy. In support of educational development in Nigeria TEPNG has donated equipment, conducted a teacher’s workshop and delivered The 123 of Maths instructional learning materials and teaching aids to several schools in the Egi community.

The 123 of Maths is an interactive and innovative teaching aid that is designed to build math proficiency using indigenous cultural norms, real life video demonstrations and graphics to teach basic level mathematics to primary school children.   This is one of the many initiatives that TEPNG has implemented to build a well-educated future workforce that will lead to stronger partnerships and opportunities in higher-level management positions within the oil industry.
