DALLAS - May 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Pastor Isaac Adeyemi welcomed participants to the May 2014 Conference of the International Missions Conference by narrating the frustration of his society with the large population of people who continue to lack access to hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ. He lamented that among the various obstacles to the spread of the gospel is lack of awareness of supporting resources available for missions and how to optimize them. He reminded all Christians that they owe a primary duty of responding to the call of Jesus to bring the message of salvation to these hungry souls, and that the desperation has taken an urgent dimension as more than 2 billion people speaking 5,000 languages still lack a Bible translated into languages that they can understand.

“This challenge motivates the formation of the IMC and this annual conference,” he says. Adeyemi, President of the IMC says his organization is determined to inspire, mobilize and envision the individual believer, ministry leader and churches to fully articulate and embrace the Great Commission. Therefore, it has turned itself into a non-denominational vehicle that ignites the passion for the gospel, and the flame for Christian self-fulfillment and ministerial calling. IMC includes:

1. Spreading awareness for International Missions, and information about Mission agencies, missionaries and mission fields across the globe.

2. Mobilizing and training Christian volunteers from various churches and denominations for short and long-term mission trips across the world

3. Raising support and resources including funds, prayers and material for Christian missionaries in various fields across the world.

Adeyemi contends that our churches need a fresh orientation, a fresh rethink, and a search for the meaning and purpose that comes out of a fresh evaluation of methods that align our ministry with the original blue print of the Book of Acts. He claims that the Book of Acts details differences in the Church’s approach to home missions compared to foreign missions, which implies that every church, ministry or missions agency must work together to strike a theological balance in our programs, planning and resource allocation. He expects this year meeting to continue to attend to these issues.

The IMC opens up resources for several mission trips to Rwanda, Philippines and other places and professional affiliations. He announced that the IMC provides free training and material support to set up missions department local churches. He hopes that churches that seize this opportunity will use it to set the stage for both short and long-term mission trips overseas. He announced the current availability of clothes, shoes, bags, beddings, comforters, books and similar household items donated to the International Missions Conference in support of the gospel.

The 2nd International Missions Conference was held in Grace Banquet Hall, Dallas, Texas on 23 -24 May 2014. Participants and mission field reports from Africa, Asia, South and North America were considered among other programs.
