ST. LOUIS - May 23, 2014 - PRLog -- From the time he was in college, Tadarrell Qualls had an affinity for helping others.  As an avid and active member of the Lincoln University student body union, Qualls preoccupied his time in learning how to elevate himself and his fellow students through education and community initiatives.  Qualls has always been familiar with the struggles of under-served communities.

Growing up in East St. Louis, the future educator and community leader had seen an entire population debilitate and become invisible to society and mainstream America. Faced with overwhelming economic problems and a lack of opportunities, residents of East St. Louis experienced a different kind of hardship in comparison to other communities.  To Qualls, it seemed that no matter how hard many families tried they just couldn’t get ahead and break the cycle of poverty that debilitated them.  In college, Qualls began to learn about economic power and the unequal distribution of wealth in urban communities.  He spent time studying how economics and unfair marketing tactics kept many urban communities oppressed. Qualls realized that the only way many could ever overcome poverty was through second chance financial programs.  It was in college that Qualls decided that if he ever started a business, the basis of his company motto would be to give people a second chance so that they could better their lives and elevate themselves out of poverty.

Qualls graduated from Lincoln University with a degree in marketing and dedicated his spare time to mentoring young people who wanted to adopt a business mind and learn about the importance of finance and marketing.  As a member of Greater New Hope Baptist church, Qualls also helped a few of his congregation members learn about credit and savings. Qualls was a leading sales person for top car dealerships in the region for years. Through his climb up the ladder his thoughts about under-served communities having a fair dis-advantage resonated in his mind.  Many lower income people could not afford to finance cars and were not even considered at many dealerships.  Without transportation it was difficult for people to better their circumstances because most jobs require that you have transportation. Qualls wanted to challenge this system because he was very familiar with the hardships of being part of the under-served.  It was vital to him and his wife, Tashia that no matter how successful they became that they would maintain their focus of community economic elevation.  After seeing many people being rejected from the opportunity to finance a vehicle Qualls decided he would open his own company catering to the under-served.  Naturally he knew that this would be risky and come with some challenges and headaches but Qualls was certain that the rewards of fulfilling his initial goals to cater to those who were once just like him and not as fortunate was far more fulfilling than being a top car dealer.  He and his wife succeeded and wanted to revert back to the essence of Qualls motivation for success: elevating his community.

Sixty year old Deborah Ballad had gone from dealership to dealership hoping to purchase a good car that would allow her to be mobile again for work.  She couldn’t find anyone that could understand her situation or work with her until she met Qualls at Exclusive Imports.

"The moment I got to Exclusive Imports, I told them my situation and what I was looking for.  Right away Qualls told me he would help me and he really did.  They were able to put me in a great car with a lower financing rate and payments that I could afford.  Exclusive Imports really understands the needs of the community and the fact that not every is fortunate or has perfect credit,” said Ballad

Qualls said customers like Ballad make his job worthwhile.  “When you’re dealing with secondary financing and a sector in which 65% of our base have challenging credit there are a lot of risks that we as a company and our financing partners deal with. We definitely understand that not everyone is as credible and reliable as people like Ballad,  I’m thankful for Ballad and all the good people we have helped during the years,” said Qualls.
