By: Native Ink Press This book contains three beautiful stories, written by a true horse lover. The author, Mary Ann Powell was given a pony by her dad, when she was just ten years old. The family lived in Washington D. C. They kept her pony in a small barn at her dad’s cinderblock business just across Rhode Island Avenue, in N.E. Mary Ann rode Princess every Saturday from her dad’s plant to their home on 26th summer, the pony lived in her backyard. When she turned twelve and became a bit too big for Princess, her dad gave her a horse that she named Bambino. The horse was boarded behind the University of Maryland in College Park at Buddington’s Riding Stable, where Mary worked every weekend leading folks on rides over the beautiful grounds of Maryland. Love for horses became a lifelong passion for her. She married a military man, who also loved horses. They purchased a small farm in Maryland where they raised, trained, and showed horses for many years. She, upon retiring from a twenty-eight year high school employee’s position, immediately attended a two-year writing course in Connecticut. Then the Equine fun writing time began. She has written several well-selling equine stories. The latest is ‘Horse Tales: Three Champions.’ The three following stories are found therein. 1. Kentucky Bred.
