Hilton KHBTCC Strengthens Ties with the Local Dead Sea Community

April 28, 2014 - PRLog -- DEAD SEA, Jordan – April 27, 2014 – Building on its extensive support to the local community, King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre managed by Hilton (“KHBTCC”), recently joined forces with nearby community center, the Anaqeed Association in a specialized IT training session undertaken for staff of the Association by team members of KHBTCC.

Held at Anaqeed’s premises at South Shouna at the Dead Sea, team members from KHBTCC’s Blue Energy Committee, which is dedicated to promoting Hilton Worldwide’s brand promise internally and within the community, not only arranged a donation of computers but also took time out to train Association members on the necessary basics of IT skills.

Anaqeed Association is an active community center drawing members from many different areas and working on several projects to help improve the lives of orphans, students, women and underprivileged families.

“Our plan is to offer community members, and youth in particular, the chance to visit and make use of the computers kindly donated by KHBTCC. We are very grateful for the gift and for the training, which will add value to the Centre in so many different ways,” said Tahani Shati, president of Anaqeed Association.

“I would like to personally thank the team of the KHBTCC for their great spirits and generosity,” Tahani added.

This activity comes as part of the Blue Energy calendar of events targeting the local community which in recent times has supported several community centers, established a community football pitch, and provided students of two schools in the Sweimeh area with real-life career development training sessions.The Blue Energy Committee gathers team members from various departments within KHBTCC to demonstrate company values to guests, their fellow colleagues, their place of work and the wider community.

“We are delighted to be able to support our community neighbours at the Dead Sea with valuable practical help. The training session was very well received and it’s gratifying to know our assistance helped the Association to provide a better service to their community members,” commented Farah Samawi, Blue Energy committee chairperson at Hilton KHBTCC.
