By: Hebei GN Solids Control Co., Ltd. Desander and desilter cones are most used in mud recycling system as second and third separation steps for treating the drilling fluid. But comparing with the previous step shale shaker or the consequent step decanter centrifuge ( only in cases with drilling rig larger than 1500HP). Desander or desilter are not as efficient,. That’s why lots of solids control manufacturers like Derrick or Mi Swaco or GN Solids Control designed desander/desilter with underflow shakers. Working process of GN desander underflow shaker: After treated by shale shaker, drilling liquid was pumped to desander/desilter cones. Then, the liquid enters into next compartment of tank, while solids discharged to the underflow shaker for separating. Treated drilling liquid directly flow into the tank below. In case of mud cleaner, two feeding pumps are needed, one for feeding desander cones, one for feeding desilter cones. Solids discharged from both desander and desilter fall onto same underflow shaker, while liquid after treating flows into respective compartments.
