April 25, 2014 - PRLog -- SBDC, the Small Business Development Center, announced the launch of a new initiative to capitalize on the shift from traditional in-person business training to a 100% online based mentoring and learning experience for entrepreneurs and small business.

With more than 900 locations nationwide, SBDC provides entrepreneurial and business training in partnership with the SBA (Small Business Administration). Since 2009, both e-learning websites as well as online learners have increased more than 325% and 500%, respectively. With no signs of letting up, came a need for government training tools to capitalize on e-learning trends. SBDC is shifting away from more traditional, in-person approaches to education to a more user-friendly platform using emerging technologies and in particular MOOC based websites (Massive Online Open Courseware). MOOC based learning tools allow online learners to select courses, online, which fulfill current training needs within organizations.

Executive Director of SBDC, Brian D. Dale, commented: “Offering e-learning options on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile devices and available 24/7 is a huge shift for not only Small Business Development Centers but thousands of other organizations. Offering e-training will not only increase business ownership but provide economic growth nationwide”.

As the role of virtual technology continues to influence economic trends, Small Business Development Centers have continued a steady migration towards training options for those wishing to start their own business as well as currently operating small businesses to drive sales and job creation. Mr. Dale offered: “There are eight key areas entrepreneurs, wherever they are in the business cycle, must become familiar with to maximize every growth opportunity available. To this end, we offer more than 2,000 online classes hosted by more than 100 expert tutors and business leaders to meet this every growing need”.
