Lesli Gooch on Abortion: Silent

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - April 23, 2014 - PRLog -- What are Lesli Gooch's thoughts on Roe v. Wade? On public funding for abortions and Planned Parenthood?

Unfortunately, voters may never know before California's June primary.

CA-31 Clean Slate examined Gooch's official campaign website, lesligooch.com, to understand what her positions are on major political and policy issues.

"We were astounded," said Juanita Vang, Chairwoman of CA-31 Clean Slate. "She has almost no information whatsoever about her positions."

A search for "abortion" on Lesli Gooch's campaign website turned up zero results on April 23, 2014.

Gooch is a candidate for California's 31st congressional seat.

"She has not given any public statement clarifying her decision to withhold her opinions on public issues on her website, so we are left to assume," Vang said. "Most candidates hire campaign consultants. Many campaign consultants advise their clients to reveal as little as possible about their stances on issues, because doing so only opens them up to potential criticism. We think this is a cowardly approach. The whole point of a campaign is to invite praise, receive criticism, and debate public issues."
