PRLog -- Nine Boy Scouts from Foothill Ranch, CA re-evaluated their performance as Boy Scouts and decided they weren’t living their oath to the best of their ability. As a result, they committed to “doing a good turn” for the less fortunate by helping to buy livestock for impoverished families around the world through the charity, Heifer International. Their goal was to raise $1000.
The nine twelve year old boys, who belong to the Scorpion Patrol from local Boy Scout Troop 639 in Foothill Ranch, are Nicholas Ortiz, Gavin Scott, Alex Karanjia, Aiden Sunahara, Ryan Jackson, Oliver Blake, Connor Caruthers Brandon Johnson and Allen Lu. Together they enlisted the help of fellow scouts, their teacher, Beth Grove, parents and friends to host multiple fundraisers in the community and are on track to surpass their goal decidedly as they approach the $2000 mark. They hope to buy hives of honey bees, livestock and other farm animals through Heifer International. “The boys wanted to do something long lasting and meaningful. Their teacher Mrs. Grove had introduced them to Heifer International as a way of helping to change lives for the long run”, said their Assistant Scoutmaster. “They have grown tremendously”
