HANDY’s Next Generation Field Day

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- HANDY’s Next Generation committee of young professionals is hosting their annual Field Day,  a one-day sports/fitness experience for HANDY’s middle and high school students from underserved communities. 75-100 kids from local schools will attend the event. Groups of 5-8 students will be paired with “Team Captains” made up of HANDY’s Next Generation young professionals group and friends. There will be 2-3 “Team Captains” for each team and they will stay with the same youth for the day, participating in all of the events, and will rotate through 8-10 different activity stations.

Date: Saturday, May 10, 2014

Time: 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Event Venue: Holiday Park, 1150 G. Harold Martin Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304

Volunteers Needed

- 25-30

As a volunteer, you will help set-up, run and judge the events and activities; motivate and encourage the different teams; and make a positive impact on the disadvantaged youth of Broward County!

Volunteer Requirements & Commitment

- You must be at least 18 years old

- The day runs from 09:00 AM until 01:00 PM with clean-up to follow

- You do not need to be present all day, depending on the assignment

Cost

- $25 to participate in activities and events as a “Team Captain”

- $10 to be a spectator

- Free for volunteers
