HIGH RIVER, Alberta - March 29, 2014 - PRLog -- "It's the same type of idea behind Remake 4 Water. For a couple of years I have been saying this could happen." says Patti DiVita, the writer, producer, director, and editor of the indie film, "Did I Say Thousand Island?".

Her positive and popular independent film set in the restaurant industry, that premiered in 2007, has been seen in at least 195 countries and continues to be downloaded daily somewhere in the world. The mission is to get it remade by "Hollywood" and have a percentage of the proceeds go towards organizations that help people in third world countries get and maintain systems for clean water, in addition to raising awareness about water conservation in countries that already have potable water.

"It has happened in the past with a few movies, but they were not 'blockbuster' type movies-- rather "subject specific" like the movie "Chimpanzee", where some proceeds went to the Jane Goodall Foundation. With this new partnership, it proves that a movie about restaurants could partner with "water organizations", especially because the relationship already exists in an extremely dependant manner. Restaurants can't operate without water. Period." Divita states.

The Earth Hour ad campaign banner on various sites (like the example in the screen shot photo) says, "Be a superhero for the planet." DiVita thinks it makes sense, and if they can make that work, restaurants and water shouldn't be a stretch in people's minds--especially since the movie has been modified to include a few water saving ideas in some specific scenes. It will bring the attention to World Water Day that is seriously lacking as seen in DiVita's latest video seen here:

The following is from a press release: ā€œI’m  very  proud  of  the  fact  that The  Amazing  Spider Man  2 is entirely carbon neutral. We made a commitment  to be   as eco conscious as possible during production itself,  when we took a special effort  to think green and avoid waste; now, completing that process with  Earth  Hour Blue is  a wonderful  testament  to what we can achieve when  we all work together,ā€  says  Jeff  Blake,  Chairman,  Worldwide  Marketing  and Distribution,  Sony  Pictures  Entertainment.

The same would be done with R4W, and although it has been done in the past to a degree, the public wasn't made aware of the green behavior. "Evan Almighty" was also a very eco conscious movie but was it advertized that way? Times are changing and we are more educated about our earth and its condition and our need to change our treatment of her.

"My vision is to see "1000 Island" once again on the big screen, but instead of being promoted for instance at some fast food chain with some plastic toy (like many movie promotions ...a toy that perhaps ends up in a landfill), it would be promoted with a refillable water bottle that will help stop plastic water bottles from ending up in a landfill. There are many ideas that would help people and the earth at the same time and people wouldn't be doing anything that requires a lot of effort. Change doesn't happen overnight, but we are getting closer and closer to a situation that will be hard to reverse."

"Look at the recent drought in California. It's not all fun and games anymore and I think we are realizing that; hence the Spiderman/Earth Hour deal. I applaud their forward moving enterprise and expect to see more in the future," the waitress-turned-trucker states. DiVita has no intention of getting into the film industry and never has. "I felt called to make my movie which shows restaurant people in a positive light, and the restaurant industry will always be close to my heart. Once a waitress always a waitress, and what's wrong with that? It's a great life!"
