Mr. James Young is appointed new General Manager of InterContinental Asiana Saigon

March 13, 2014 - PRLog -- InterContinental Asiana Saigon has recently announced that Mr. James Young has been named Area General Manager of IHG South Vietnam and General Manager of Intercontinental Asiana Saigon. The announcement was made by Mr. Clarence Tan, Chief Operating Officer of IHG South East Asia & Resorts.

With more than 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry and more than a decade with IHG, Mr. Young brings to InterContinental Asiana Saigon a wealth of industry knowledge in the luxury hotel segment. His most recent position was General Manager at Crowne Plaza Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the most significant properties in the IHG portfolio with 568 rooms, 12 restaurants and 650 full-time employees. Mr. Young’s extraordinary leadership during his time in the UAE earned him the “Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts leader of the Year 2012” award for the Africa, Middle East & Asia (AMEA) region. Prior to this, he served as General Manager and Hotel Manager of other IHG properties such as Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi, Crowne Plaza Dubai and InterContinental Doha, Qatar.  Mr. Young holds a first class honours degree in International Hospitality and Tourism from Sheffield Hallam University, and has attended several courses at Ashridge Business School, and Cornell University.

Originally from the United Kingdom, he started his career with IHG at the InterContinental Park Lane  and is no stranger to working across diverse regions, having extensive operational experience throughout many Middle Eastern and European cities. His reach in South Vietnam will cover 3 hotels including the flagship InterContinental Asiana Saigon, Crowne Plaza Danang and the soon to open InterContinental Nha Trang.
