Grand-Flo Spritvest and SensMaster announce FloView for automotive production monitoring

KOTA DAMANSARA, Malaysia - Feb. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- 28 February, 2014, Malaysia – Grand-Flo Spritvest Sdn Bhd (“GF Spritvest”) and SensMaster Sdn Bhd announce FloView, a Production Monitoring System which makes use of advanced RFID technology to provide real time visibility of production and work in process.

Rugged RFID tags with excellent performance on metal are fixed to important automotive parts such as engine, body and chassis. They provide real-time information to RFID readers installed at key locations throughout the production facility. FloView centres on Score Boards, which are fixed screens placed at each work-team area presenting critical task-specific information. This allows real-time information to be disseminated to those that immediately need it.

Information is also used by the application to detect and prevent potential glitches; leading to increased efficiency, improved quality control and predictability. An overall view of the flow is used to monitor performance. Score Boards can also be presented on handhelds for mobile personnel.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) refers to technologies using radio for the identification of physical objects. FloView incorporates both passive and active RFID technologies. RFID readers are connected via an Ethernet LAN network which is also used for power distribution via Power over Ethernet (PoE). Web-services are used to disseminate task specific information to Score Boards, handhelds and other terminals.
