In conversation with Vishv Books

DELHI, India - Feb. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Vishv Books held a very focused and purposeful  conversation with their  author, Bina Kapoor. Bina Kapoor has authored a series ‘I am Unique’  which  is a series of 8  short-story books published by Vishv Books . The stories are woven around different animal characters who feel uncomfortable about some traits they are born with. Caught in unsettling situations, which they breakout from using their special trait only to discover that the ‘difference’ which they were uncomfortable with is actually their unique feature.

Bina Kapoor in her conversation with Mudit Mohini, Publisher, Vishv Books and Bhavna Saxena, Editorial Head, Vishv Books, emphasised upon  using books as a medium to facilitate  emotional development in  young children. She elaborated on the objective of ‘I am Unique’ Series and explained  how these books could  help children accept their  traits as uniqueness thus evoking sense of warmth and self belief in them. In this context, Bhavna opined that the people associated with Children’s literature have a lot of capabilities  to transform the young lives for better.

While answering to a question raised from the audience , Bina threw light on the role of parents in developing reading habit among children.  In conversation with Bina,  Mudit opined that a publisher’s vision and  also  support to the promising author is very important to bring out good children’s literature.  Bhavna and Bina read out excerpts from one of the  book from the series,  which beautifully  blends scientific facts into  fiction. This story reading  was enjoyed by the children thoroughly. Audience had lot of children among them and some of them  enquired about how to become a writer. Their questions  were  answered aptly by the author. The topic of discussion lead to a series of questions among young parents regarding the role of books in the emotional  growth of young children. The session ended with some interesting quiz and activities which had children as well as grownups  taking part with equal excitement.
