Follow on Google News | Metal tubes: Handling and Processing by Systems of Weerth Handling-Systeme GmbHBy: Weerth-Handling-Systeme GmbH Update: Many industries need metal tubes cut to exact lengths (millimetres) WHS is one of the first manufacturers worldwide, producing innovative machinery and plant for the chipless and low-burr-cutting of metal tubes, including the self-developed, patented “tear/break- Whilst the material loss in common cutting systems - depending width of the saw blade - can reach up to 2 mm per cut, the WHS-machines cut without material loss. When cutting several hundred meters of tubes this can sum-up to considerable material (value) loss. The low-burr processing, due to the integrated ‘tearing’ of the tube, allows for direct further treatment and additional production steps are omitted, like removal of burrs, washing of tubes, and more, depending on the further use of the pieces. The process is as follows: The circular knife runs around the tube and cuts it. However, before the tube is cut completely, the knife is retracted and the tube ‘torn’ (for bigger diameters ‘broken’). By this - formerly patented - process the tube is cut without inner burrs, which would result if the tube was cut completely. An additional widening of the inner diameter for further processing is thereby omitted and a mandrel could easily be inserted for further production steps. An additional linking to other production steps (as reshaping, chamfering, etc.) is easily possibly and will either be supplied in addition or the cutting system can be integrated into existing plants. The clients consist of processors of precision tubes out of non-ferrous metals, all possible steel- and stainless steel materials, up to Titanium - including solar heating plants, heating- and air conditioning manufacturers, automotive and aircraft industries. Own developments, formerly patented, to store and feed tube- and pipe sections round out the production program. More details are available from the web.
