Tripod Foundation Inc Releases 2014 Scholarship Application

Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- January 29, 2014- WASHINGTON, DC-Applications are now available for the annual Tripod Foundation scholarship. Seniors attending high schools in the Washington Metro Area are eligible to apply.

Interested parties can download the scholarship application at www.tripodfoundation.org.

All applications and supplemental materials must be received at the Tripod Foundation's P.O. Box by March 7^th, 2014. Any questions regarding the scholarship should be directed to Scholarship Committee Chair Steve Mobley at scholarships@tripodfoundation.org.

"The Foundation is excited to launch our 2014 Scholarship Application and we are looking forward to reviewing applications from our diverse applicant pool," said Tripod Foundation Board Chair Floyd Mitchell.

Applicants should have a 3.0 or better grade point average and must write an essay. All instructions are included with the downloaded application. Past recipients possessed a marked commitment to service as well as academic achievement, embodying the organization's values.

The Tripod Foundation will culminate this Scholarship cycle with its Annual Awards Banquet to be held in early April.  In addition to distributing the scholarship at this event, the Foundation will honor Alex Dixon, Vice President and Assistant General Manager of Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, MD, with its Excellence in Leadership Award.

Mr. Lloyd Freeman (former Chairman) and Mr. Floyd Mitchell (current Chairman) founded the Tripod Foundation Inc.
