Facebook ads and promotions seem to produce useful results. What about the rest? Perhaps I misunderstand Outbrain. It seems clear to me in the Google article that, a link paid for, is a link paid for. Regardless of where it comes from. It has no true value to organic SEO. To drive traffic, perhaps, it will serve its purpose. Is it worth the penalty against page rank? I would like to know how Outbrain differs from any other pay-per-click. I have used pay-per-click. Never fails, 5-20 second hits to the landing page seem to be the majority of traffic. Bounce rates go through the roof. Natural or organic traffic has never produced these results. The problem I see with pay-per-click is, competitors can use it against you. And then, optimize as needed. If a website has fresh content and good product, it will naturally rank well and users will find it.
