PENSACOLA, Fla. - Jan. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- How does Outbrain differ from any other pay-per-click?

"As a startup we can’t spend a lot, but we found Outbrain, by far, drives more volume, higher CTRs and lower CPCs than any other channel." - KATELYN WATSON, FOUNDER/CMO, DINKLIFE.COM - Facebook Post

I posted the following response, “Try reading Google’s web master guidelines before you spend money on something. Always question, are these paid links rel=”nofollow”? If search bots are denied the ability to follow these links they pass zero page rank. Your, only true benefit would be if someone actually clicked the link and then, actually engages your website.” - James W. via Facebook

"If you were buying links for SEO purposes this would apply. This would mean that if I did any type of banner advertising my sites would be penalized, which is simply not true." - Adam Holland replied.

My experience with pay-per-click has led to skepticism. Facebook ads and promotions seem to produce useful results. What about the rest?

Perhaps I misunderstand Outbrain. It seems clear to me in the Google article that, a link paid for, is a link paid for. Regardless of where it comes from. It has no true value to organic SEO. To drive traffic, perhaps, it will serve its purpose. Is it worth the penalty against page rank?

I would like to know how Outbrain differs from any other pay-per-click. I have used pay-per-click. Never fails, 5-20 second hits to the landing page seem to be the majority of traffic. Bounce rates go through the roof. Natural or organic traffic has never produced these results.

The problem I see with pay-per-click is, competitors can use it against you. Anybody can seek out the competition’s ad and click it to death. Consuming marketing and advertising dollars with zero results, would be an obvious motive. I would love to see an algorithm that could detect this. I suspect, due to the infinite number of fake or false email account possibilities, it would be virtually impossible.

A good web design company like, www.opulentworx.com, or well educated DiY website developer, will build to the standards set by Google and other major search engines. And then, optimize as needed. If a website has fresh content and good product, it will naturally rank well and users will find it.
