Ralph Cooper, Veteran SAG-AFTRA Agent, Joins Washington, DC's Capital Talent Agency
Former head of AVO Talent's promo/trailer/narration department to lead CTA's film/television/commercial/voice-over division
Cooper has nearly 20 years of experience in the television, film, and voice-over businesses. He has worked in Los Angeles with Universal Studios and MGM Studios and with two of LA's leading commercial talent agencies, CESD Talent Agency and AVO Talent. Cooper was responsible for obtaining voice-over work for clients such as Denis Leary, Burt Reynolds, Martin Landau, James Garner, and Phylicia Rashad and placed these and many other actors in national ad campaigns for companies such as Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Toyota, Bank of America, and Budweiser. Cooper also has years of experience in placing voice-over talent with Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Paramount Studios, and MGM.
In addition to his experience as a veteran talent agent in LA, Cooper worked for many years in Hollywood as a writer, director, and producer with several television and film production companies. Cooper graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
"I'm very excited about joining CTA and heading up its film, television, commercial, and voice-over division," said Cooper. "The agency's roster of talent is impressive and wide-ranging. I believe that my experience in LA and the vast network that I've built nationwide with casting directors and others in the industry will serve CTA's clients well and will help expand the many opportunities for them to obtain exciting and rewarding work in film and television."
"I'm also excited to work with the talented team at CTA," Cooper added. "The agency's client-centric philosophy is one that I've embraced during my years as an agent on the West Coast."
"We are lucky to land Ralph Cooper at CTA," said Roger Yoerges, CEO of Capital Talent Agency. "Our film, television, commercial, and voice-over business has grown dramatically over the past two years, but there is a substantial, untapped potential that Ralph is uniquely qualified to help our clients realize. He's also a terrific fit with our agency and will work closely with our clients to develop their careers even further in film and television."
Rich Luna, who joined CTA in 2011 and has led the agency's film and television division, will be leaving the agency at the end of January 2014. "Rich launched our film and television department, and we are grateful for his leadership during his time with CTA. We'll miss Rich and his family, who have recently moved to the West Coast, and hope that we will be able to continue to work with Rich in the future," said Yoerges.
