Not only did the children’s grades improve when Aquaponics was introduced into the curriculum, their self-esteem and pride in what they were doing grew too. Moses Thompson who is the school counselor at Manzo elementary also commented that the children’s behavior improved and their parents were noticing the benefits at home. Before being introduced to Aquaponics many of these children couldn’t sit still, would argue with one another and had no interest in the classroom. Those results are too powerful to ignore and prove what can be done when children feel that they are being productive.

Adam has a dual bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and Marine Fisheries.
