He was born on July 12, 1950 live in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with his wife and 2 sons. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt’s parents late Manmohan Bhatt and late Chandrakala Bhatt were also teaching and performing musicians who imparted knowledge of Music to V.M.Bhatt. His elder son Salil Bhatt is a renowned Mohan Veena (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohan_veena) player (and also a player of the Satvik Veena), whose album Slide to Freedom Part II was nominated for the Canadian JUNO AWARD and also featured in pre-Grammy nominations list, while his younger son Saurabh Bhatt is a well known composer. East meets West :- A magnificent album composed by the efforts of Grammy Award Winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Glen Charles-a musician. It is a unique album which showcases the talent of the two brilliant legendary artists from different corners of the world. The mesmerizing album has beautiful compositions in it which begins with a short yet beautiful introductory alap followed by intoxicating solos and lovely harmonic changes leaving a warm and uplifting feeling on the listeners. The compositions from the album are completely mesmeric that leaves the auditors spell bound. The next track in plaintive alap set over a rich bed of mystifying drone elements, shimmering percussions and powerful world beats – listening to it is simply akin to being carried along by a mystical ‘passing caravan’. The album is composed of two melodious Ragas, Raga Jog and Raga Kirwani which are beautiful compositions that connects the listeners soul and heart with the god and make them feel overwhelmed, ecstatic and more closer to him.
