Washington, D.C. – “Dick Cheney.” “Unfathomable stupidity.” “Breaking out into song and dance.”

These are all punch lines in the popular game Cards Against Humanity and, starting in January, phrases you’re likely to hear on fourth Thursdays at Bier Baron. LYGO DC is presenting Comics Against Humanity, a variation of the popular card game, played by comics with punch lines as varied, absurd, and hilarious as the game and their minds can produce.

Hosted by one of LYGO DC’s founders, Rich Bennett, local buzz is growing amongst fans of the game and the show will aim to capture that excitement by giving audiences a chance to play along.

Winners and prizes will be determined by crowd response and participation. The show will have a $2 door cover and go from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. with a DJ’d after party running to midnight. Nakid Sports will have a special deal on advance tickets for $10 that will include two rail drinks.

“This is a game that’s fun among friends, better with comics, and primed to explode with a live crowd. It’s going to be          huge,” Bennett said. “Our CAH opener includes some amazing local comics that have been training for this moment all their lives — David Coulter, Natalie McGill and David Tveite— because we’ve been playing since September.”

In other LYGO DC news, Stand Up at Bier Baron will be every Wednesday and Thursday in 2014. For the opening Thursday show of year, LYGO DC presents headliner Courtney Fearrington. The United States Marine Corps veteran and Washington, DC native recently took his talents to the big time of New York City, but always enjoys bringing his likable personality and quick wit back to entertain the District. In addition to being a regular at the DC Improv, Fearrington has been featured in the Bentzen Ball and worked with comedians from HBO, The Daily Show, Comedy Central, MTV, SNL, and many more.

We our also proud parents: Our Comedy at Codmother show is all grown up and moving to Wednesdays at Bier Baron as of January 15. Also in the 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. time slot, this show will typically feature shorter sets by our Thursday performers with additional guest spots for our local up-and-comers.
