WinterParkLostPets.com Helps Reunite 700th Pet

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- WinterParkLostPets.com announced today that ‘Chewy,’ a Chihuahua, became the 700th pet posted at WinterParkLostPets.com to find its way home safely.

In announcing the 700^th reunited pet, WinterParkLostPets.com co-founder Judy Charuhas said the community focus of the website attributes greatly to its success. “If you lose a pet in Winter Park, it’s likely the pet will be found or seen by someone in Winter Park,” explained Ms Charuhas.

Founded in 2009 and voted “Best Lost/Found Pet Website” by dogster.com, the website includes a photo listing of lost and found pets, plus checklists for what pet owners can do if their pet is missing and what citizens can do if they find a wandering pet. There is also an option for producing a printable flyer of a lost/found pet.

The website recently underwent a redesign that allows for greater ease in posting lost and found pets.

Contributing to the success of WinterParkLostPet.com is its free e-mail alert service. Residents of Winter Park and neighboring communities can sign up at the website to receive e-mail alerts that are sent when a pet is missing and when a wandering pet is found. E-mail alerts are also sent to shelters, groomers, and pet related businesses, as well as veterinarians within a five-mile radius of the city.

“We’ve had cases where owners of a lost pet, and the citizens who found it, have posted on our website simultaneously, resulting in a quick homecoming. There are also cases where pets that have gone missing for weeks, even months, have been eventually reunited. We never give up hope,” said Ms Charuhas. ‘“Pittipat,” a cat, was recently reunited in Baldwin Park after missing for 13 months.”
