By: WinterParkLostPets.com The Dog Walk will be held from 8 am until 12 noon and start at the Cady Way Trail phase 1 in Winter Park next to the YMCA pool. Participants can walk along the trail for as long or short a distance as they wish. “You do not need to bring your dog to participate in the Dog Walk,” explained Judy Charuhas, co-founder of WinterParkLostPets.com and The Lost Pets Foundation. “Everyone is encouraged to simply come out, enjoy the beautiful Winter Park section of the Cady Way trail, and support a great cause.” Registration includes a t-shirt provided Dr. Zachary Hodgins of The Dentist’s Studio, a free “Doggie Goodie Bag” filled with products and surprises provided by local businesses, complimentary beverages, and more. The event will include an exhibit area featuring Winter Park merchants, many of whom specializing in products and services for pet owners. All proceeds from the $20 Dog Walk registration fee benefit The Lost Pets Foundation. “Unlike many walk/run events where each participant pays a registration fee, the whole family can walk with just one $20 donation,” explained Ms Charuhas. Participants can register to walk at www.WPdogwalk.com. Free Microchips for Pets Orange County Animal Services will microchip 100 pets at no cost during the Dog Walk. “A microchip ID is one of the most important protections a pet owner can take to ensure their pet is returned safely should it become lost,” said Ms Charuhas. The microchip ID will be provided free to the first 100 registrants who request the service. The Lost Pets Foundation will also cover the fee to register the chip with a national database. Dog walkers can request the free microchip when they register online at WPdogwalk.com. A map of the event location, additional information and registration can be accessed online at www.WPdogwalk.com. “We deeply appreciate the support of Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida for making this event possible,” concluded Ms Charuhas. # # # THE LOST PETS FOUNDATION was formed by WinterParkLostPets.com to help pets in need, to support local pet rescue efforts, and to expand public awareness of important services such as microchips.
