| ![]() EU to Amend Safety Standard EN 71-1 on Toy Acoustic RequirementsOn 31 October 2013 the EU Commission harmonized the amendment on toy acoustic requirements EN 71-1:2011 +A2:2013 with a transitional period until 30 September 2014.

EU to Harmonize Toy Acoustic Requirements Now amendment A2 to the EU toy standard EN 71-1 (physical and mechanical requirements) There is a transitional period until 30 September 2014. This means that until that date both the old and new requirements may be used to show compliance to the EU toy directive. Amendment A2 is the first published amendment to EN 71-1:2011. Amendment A1 is still being processed. The amendment A1 concerns a revision of the warning section.
