AMA Chicago Chapter Wins Accolades in International Competition
The American Marketing Association bestows honors to the Chicago chapter for leadership, programming, communications

The award for Leadership Excellence recognized the Chicago chapter’s board leadership, strategic planning, vision, volunteer management, financial and KPI management, sponsorship and collegiate relations efforts. The chapter was also recognized for re-investing six percent of its net income for strategic initiatives for 2013-2014.
The Programming Excellence award took note of the more than 30 quality educational events planned by the Chicago chapter, including new programs like the CAMA’s Sunrise Executive Series, Evening with an Expert, inaugural Momentum conference and a highly successful BrandSmart conference. The Communications Excellence award recognized Chicago AMA for best practices in content development, delivery and overall engagement and community building.
“The staff, board of directors, members and so many volunteers of Chicago’s AMA have worked incredibly hard to successfully rebrand our chapter, attract record numbers of new members and introduce new programming that serves the needs of Chicago’s incredible marketing community,” said Chicago’s 2012-13 chapter president, Ann Kostopanagiotou. “We are honored by this recognition of our collective efforts.”
Tara Giuliano, 2013-2014 president of the Chicago AMA chapter added: “Chicago AMA’s tremendous evolution over the past years clearly also reflects a great resurgence of the industry- leading marketing community here in Chicago. Having surpassed even our own ambitious goals, we look forward to further engaging with Chicago marketers and setting our sights even higher for the future.”
The Chicago AMA chapter serves more than 1,000 members of Chicago business community, plus area colleges and universities through a wide range of programs and services specifically for marketers. Under the mantra of “Making Every Marketer Count,” Chicago AMA has significantly increased its membership, introduced multiple new educational programs and introduced AMA to a broader community of more than 7,000 area marketers.
