Chicago Matrimonial Lawyer Jeffery Leving and Mike North to Discuss Incognito Grievance

CHICAGO - Nov. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, IL - Chicago Divorce Attorney and legal commentator Jeffery Leving (http://dadsrights.com) will join Mike North on Fox Sports Radio –XM 247 (NATIONAL) this Sunday, November 17th at 11:30AM CST and 9:30PM CST to discuss recent developments in the Miami Dolphins/Richie Incognito bullying scandal.   Incognito was suspended indefinitely for “conduct detrimental to the team.”  His suspension was based on his treatment of teammate,   Jonathan Martin, who abruptly left the team amid allegations that he endured significant harassment and bullying at the hands of Incognito.  Incognito has missed one game due to the suspension, and may miss up to three more.  Incognito is now fighting back and has filed a grievance against the team claiming his conduct was part of a normal “locker-room environment.”

According to USA Today, Incognito’s bad reputation pre-dates his time at the Dolphins, and includes behavior typically frowned upon such as fights, suspensions, an arrest for assault, taunting fans, and allegedly spitting on opponents.  However, not all of Incognito's teammates took offense at his actions. As explained by former Miami Dolphin Greg Camarillo, "There's a thin line between having a guy that has a reputation for doing too much and then having a guy that has a reputation for being aggressive and wild on the field in a good way.”

The Dolphin’s saga has turned into a larger discussion concerning bullying and the “macho mindset” that accompanies playing football.

“Bullying behavior is inexcusable.  Long standing acceptance of harassment and abuse does not make it right,” notes Leving. He appropriately adds, “As a lawyer I am trained to fight in the courtroom and I do so very aggressively. But I leave the ‘gladiator mentality’ at the steps of the court house and do not bring it back to my law firm and my colleagues. We need to take a hard look at any part of our culture that permeates and fosters a bullying mentality.”
