By: Graham English The Hertfordshire- Graham returned to The Isle of Man in August for the inagural Classic TT, where he was in very good company. The races drew some of the best riders in the world, including TT stars John McGuiness, Bruce Anstey, Cameron Donald, Ian Lougher, William Dunlop, Chris Palmer, Gary Johnson, Michael Dunlop and Conor Cummins. English campaigned his 1986 Harris F1 Suzuki, which was bought as an unfinished project. Over the past two years, the team worked continuously to bring the bike back to its racing glory, sourcing parts and services from around the world, including R&D Motorsports of Clearwater Florida, and Worldwide Bearings of New Jersey, USA. The Harris was finished just in time, and the Suzuki GSX1100EFE engine was fired up and final tuning done only 3 days before the ferry for the classic TT. English noted that, ʻThe bike came out well and after resolving a few teething issues it was a flying machine. We have areas to improve on next year and certainly learnt the circuit a little more while enjoying the first Classic TT immensely.ʼ He added, ʻA worthy note is that I raced with the number 33 emblazoned on the Harrisʼ fairing…it was my fatherʼs race number back in the day!' The team effort was rewarded with an 11th place finish in the F1 Classic TT race, with 3 of Englishʼs 4 laps clocking in over 110mph. And now, on to The Macau Grand Prix, where English will race the FIX Auto – Tiva Engineering BMW S1000RR, built in Superstock trim. The Macau Grand Prix is the only race in the world that stages motorcycle, sports cars and Formula cars at the same event. The 60th anniversary races will be run on the challenging Guia Circuit street course of 3.8 miles. An estimated 200,000 spectators are expected to flock to Macau for the six-day, 13 race event held over two weekends. For English, the races will cap a remarkable year. ʻIʼve competed against some of the best racers in the world, reached new milestones, and set myself up for a fantastic 2014. My team is ready, the bike is prepared, and Iʼm excited for some great racing in Macau.ʼ For more information and sponsorship opportunities for Graham English and The Fix Auto - Tiva Engineering race team, please contact: Graham English @ 07973 817773 / graham.english@ End
