ModelShop launches free home delivery of science kits to rural areas

BANGALORE, India - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- ModelShop.in, recently launched the free home delivery of its products of any amount to rural areas of India. The final paid value is subsidized based on the pincode that the order has been placed for. This is a first such move by any ecommerce company for any domain.

ModelShop.in. which is a social enterprise, recently participated in Edinburgh International Science Festival as their Science Partner. The company has been created wih a mision to deliver wonder and inspiration with affordable science kits for masses. To achieve its vision of teaching experiential science to students, the company has created science experiments which can be bought online at its website. These science experiments are delivered accross India and has served thousands on needy students even in remotest part of India.

"We are inspired with your products, thanks for making it available in our small town", says Asma, a housewife and mother of a 14 year old daughter from a small town near kolhapur.

Such feedback are regular for Manish Agrawal, the founder of ModelShop.in, who is an NIT, Trichy computer engineer and did his management from IIM, Bangalore. He started this as his passion to teach science and to fill the existing gap in our education system. According to him, "The current education system is more geared towards theoritical knowledge and scientific clutivation is lacking in students. The part of the blame also goes to hobby offerings like aeromodeling and robotics, which engages a child but does not teach him the concepts in basic science."

The future plan for ModelShop.in is to make science kits according to the syllabus and create a team of teachers to offer the free training in govt. schools using the same kits.

The company will continue to work for social cause of uplifting underpriveledged students with scientific cultivation. To help the cuase, all the kits sold by the website come with experiment log books which foster the habbit of scientific observation among students at early age.
