Libman Education Affiliate Partner to be Awarded 2013 AHIMA Triumph Award - Mentor Award

BEDFORD, Mass. - Oct. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Pamela Haney, MS, RHIA, CCS, CPC-H, Director of Coding Services for Synernet – an outsourced provider of administrative services, and a Libman Education affiliate partner – has been chosen to receive a 2013 AHIMA Triumph Award - Mentor Award.

Every year, the AHIMA Triumph Awards honor professionals responsible for advancing the field of health information management (HIM). Awardees are chosen for demonstrating extraordinary leadership, volunteerism and talent.

The Mentor Award honors individuals or “teams” with long records of encouraging students or colleagues to realize their full potential, or having helped them to find ways to achieve their best.

“I’m humbled and honored to receive the Mentor Award,” said Haney. “I want to thank all who have supported me throughout my HIM career; I couldn’t have accomplished what I did without them.  And now that I have the opportunity to help others achieve their career goals, I am pleased to be able to do so.”

She added, “When mentoring HIM professionals, it is very rewarding to watch them grow and to see their drive for excellence. They have a lot of potential; sometimes it just needs to be encouraged.  There are definitely many professionals eager to make a difference in the HIM field.”

The Triumph Awards are presented annually at the AHIMA Convention & Exhibit. Haney’s award is to be conferred this October 28 at the 85^th Annual Convention and Exhibit in Atlanta, GA.

Haney has more than 30 years of experience in medical records and health information services. Before joining Synernet, Haney served 10 years as Director of Health Information Services and privacy officer for Lincoln County Healthcare in Damariscotta.

Haney holds a BS in Health Information Management from StephensCollege in Columbia, MO and a Master’s of Science degree in Health Care Administration from CaliforniaCollege for Health Sciences.
