Oct. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Accolades flourish from reviews about iPooKee; the part fantasy, part comedy, part space odyssey written by Brook Tesla, about a 10-year-old girl, PooKee, with mystical powers.

A fanciful magical journey embarks as PooKee searches for her father who was tragically a victim of the 9/11 attacks.  As PooKee nicknamed her dad “Rhubarb Pie,” the bond of father and daughter is written with vulnerability, making her such a relatable character to young adults targeted for this book’s audience.

Technology in this future society has taken its logical path, from our daily addiction nowadays to total engulfing of humans in every imaginable way.  “The Internet and any other computer application, for that matter, is a source of attraction to young people and adults,” Brook Tesla said during a recent interview.

Even the diet of the future is altered by “software architects” who create virtual food on computers.  “Food is the essence of any culture, and my characters are inseparable from the culture they live in,” said Tesla.  “The foods they like or dislike paints their personalities, introduces them to the reader in colors, smells, and tastes.”

Choosing the structural underpinnings and plot machinations had a personal root cause for Brook Tesla, as she was a firsthand witness to the tragedy of that infamous day.  “I was working for a Wall Street financial institution.  The death and destruction and the horrifying memories have never faded.  I keep reliving these moments: the beautiful sunny day turned instantly into an unimaginable chaos.  I'll never forget the fear on people's faces as they were fleeing the hazardous scenes.  In the background heavy clouds of dark smoke and dust immersed the city,” she recalled.

Embellished with clever characters with unforgettable names, her novel imprints a wide variety of original thoughts on readers.   For example, she talked about one of her characters, Larry Quack.   “He's evil, corrupt, and to some degree—unbalanced,” she said.  “For me, he represents the worse side of Wall Street.  But Wall Street has also nice perspectives; one is illustrated by the beautiful personality of Rhubarb Pie, PooKee's loving father.”

Touching all emotions from laughter to crying, reading iPooKee will bring forth the value of how love prevails.  Enhancing the book is the author’s website www.pookee.com featuring original artwork of her visualization of the book.   iPooKee is now available on most every electronic form of publishing and retail distribution.
