For Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, Documentary NO WAY OUT BUT ONE Shows Family Court Nightmare

WARREN, N.J. - Oct. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, and Passion River Films is proud to present a new documentary title calling attention to the struggles faced by a domestic abuse victim in 21^st century America.

“No Way Out But One” tells the true story of Holly Collins, a Minnesota mother who loses custody of her children to their abusive father. In 1994, she becomes an international fugitive by defying this family court verdict and fleeing the country with her children.  Filmmakers Garland Waller and Barry Nolan document this harrowing journey in its entirety, starting from Collins’ initial court case and culminating in her return to the United States seven years after her original flight.

The film, which The Huffington Post has called “advocacy journalism at its very best,” promotes awareness of domestic abuse and exposes the dire shortcomings of the American family courts’ way of awarding custody. It tells a story of immense contemporary significance, revealing how modern courts still victimize those they purport to protect.
