‘POOJA & URVIKA’, the new designer label by creative mother-daughter duo Pooja & Urvika Kapur marked their debut with a stunning collection this October 2013, at Andy Home – F 213/D, Old MB Road, Lado Sarai, Mehrauli. The show was a grand success and very well received by all from in and around Delhi in spite of the Fashion week.

Urvika, a Fashion Designer from the prestigious Parsons School of Design as well as a Jewelry Designer from the Gemological Institute of America and Pooja a Jewelry Designer from The Jewelry Design & Technology Institute and a diamond grader from the International Gemological Institute combined to present a festive collection with an aesthetic appeal displaying a version of the global and traditional.

“POOJA & URVIKA’S” DEBUT COLLECTION - “THE GATSBY PEACOCK”

Pooja & Urvika’s debut collection named, “The Gatsby Peacock” is inspired by the rich and vibrant colors of India’s National Bird, and the opulence and understated chic style of the, “The Great Gatsby.” The label will also present western evening wear and semi-precious jewelry shortly. Their entire range will incorporate couture, ready-to-wear and bespoke fashion. Their clothes are a unique medley of clean cuts, happy yet elegant and subtle colors, figure-flattering styles, with age-old traditional embroideries interspersed in a discreet manner. The appeal is of flowing trendy fabrics, intricate embroideries that blend effortlessly. Pooja & Urvika’s vision is to bring to the discerning modern customer elegant and gracefully formal Indian and Western wear. The result is wearable art with a timeless, yet trendy appeal created especially for a discerning clientele from 17 to 70+.

POOJA KAPUR

Master in English literature from LSR, New Delhi Pooja Kapur perused Jewelry Designing from The Jewelry Design & Technology Institute. She has the ability to clearly envision the end product and the affects of blending colors. She also has a keen eye for flattering cuts and detail and loves diverse textiles and fabrics.

URVIKA KAPUR

Born and raised in New Delhi, Urvika Kapur has a natural affinity with colors, style and design. She has experimented with different art forms like, Pottery, Calligraphy and Sculpture. To achieve her goal of becoming a Fashion Designer, she joined the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York. At Parsons, Urvika pursued Integrated Fashion Design, specializing in Parisian couture & tailoring along with Fashion Merchandising. Later, she got to train with the house of YSL and contemporary designer, Yoana Baraschi. She also got training under Indian Artist, Kanchan Chandra for 3 years
