Follow on Google News |  Consumers Demand Industry Assurance: Say No to Toxic and Counterfeit ProductsBy: VoiceAmerica Most consumers are committed to buying safe, environmentally friendly products and avoiding the purchase of counterfeits. While buying habits are informed by brands and influenced by marketing, there is limited education and disclosure available to the general public about potential health risks of certain products. Why? Some hazardous materials, albeit small amounts, are actually allowed in most products, ranging from electronic toys to medical devices and phone cords. And many of these products, especially those from overseas, can contain counterfeit materials. Bringing these products into our homes can carry serious combined health risks that could include autism, cancer and even death. Stan Salot, founder and president of the Hazardous Substance Free (HSF) and the Counterfeit Avoidance Mark Alliance (CAMA), believes that consumers have the right to know about the materials and their safety in the products we buy. He and his team recently developed the HSF and CAMA product marks to provide the solution that consumers deserve. His interview will explain ways that the usage of these marks has the potential to revolutionize the way consumers interact with industry leaders and manufacturers.
