BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Sept. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- The upcoming Grand Rapids Comic-Con on October 12th will include a packed vendor room for convention goers. Among the diverse wares will be print and digital fantasy novels by Battle Creek author Tracy Falbe.

Falbe writes epics set in a fantasy world ruled by the rys, a magical race corrupted by its own supreme power. The novels of The Rys Chronicles and Rys Rising series encompass multiple civilizations, numerous characters, and themes of love, hate, religion, empire, and family.

At the Grand Rapids Comic-Con the author will be signing books for customers. In addition to paperbacks, Falbe will also be selling ebooks at a special price not available online. Visitors will be able to sign up to receive free ebook samples and get a coupon for Falbe’s upcoming novel Werelord Thal: A Renaissance Werewolf Tale. Styled as a paranormal historical romance, it is scheduled for publication in November.

Thousands of readers around the world have enjoyed Falbe’s fantasy novels that are sold at her web store Brave Luck Books and at major online retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Smashwords.

Her readers have referred to her rys characters as the most unique fantasy race they have encountered. Fans have also compared her to Raymond E. Fiest, Robin Hobb, Terry Goodkind and George R.R. Martin of Game of Thrones fame.

This is the inaugural year for Grand Rapids Comic-Con, an event organized by Mark and Jennifer Hodges. Located in Wyoming at the HSB Building, 5625 Burlingame SW, the convention is on Saturday October 12th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission is $5. A $10 early bird admission grants access to the vendor room at 9 a.m. Hodges expects a good turnout due to the size of the Grand Rapids market and its support of the arts.

Among the many planned events at the Comic-Con are a Halloween fashion show, film festival, costuming, and appearances by guest comic artists Jon Alderink, Allen Bellman, Arvell Jones, Dan Monroe, Robert Pope, and Chris Yambar.

As part of the independent artist community, Falbe hopes to meet creators like herself and enjoy the fun atmosphere associated with comic conventions. People interested in writing are welcome to stop by her table and chat about the craft of fiction.

Fantasy novels currently available from Falbe are Union of Renegades, The Goddess Queen, Judgment Rising, The Borderlands of Power, Rys Rising, Savage Storm, New Religion, and Love Lost.
