Candidates Speak® allows voters to see every candidate’s video profile at one site Youtube Video Explanation: <iframe width="420" height="315" Nesconset, NY ~ What do an international motivational and leadership speaker, author, inventor and an ex County Executive have in common? No, that’s not the lead into a joke, but rather the set up for a revolutionary concept that motivational, leadership speaker and author Kevin L. McCrudden and former County Executive Steve Levy are launching on Long Island this political season. “Most of my ideas, concepts and inventions have come in the form of answering a question or a “hypothesis,” Enter former County Executive Steve Levy. McCrudden and Levy have known each other for many years. McCrudden had a failed run for political office in 1997 when Levy was a County Legislator. In 2003, McCrudden approached Levy to acknowledge his National Motivation & Inspiration Day on January 2nd of every year after McCrudden had it passed by The United States Congress, making him the only motivational and leadership speaker to ever have a day of recognition passed by Congress. McCrudden is currently on the Advisory Board of the Center for Cost Effective Government, for which Levy serves as Executive Director. Levy said, "Kevin's idea of giving voters the opportunity to see every candidate with just the click of the computer is brilliant. Many voters are very busy and don't have the time to attend community forums, yet they still yearn to learn more about candidates on the ballot. Candidates Speak will be very helpful to voters, especially on lesser publicized races for school board, fire commissioner or village trustee. Now, voters will, in the comfort of their own home, with no inconvenience, be able to see a video displaying how the candidate articulates his or her platform." Candidates Speak® is a revolutionary project that McCrudden and Levy are launching online with Patch.com, Youtube and Facebook. The project will begin with a Candidates Speak® page on every Patch page on Long Island and will hopefully spread through the entire Patch/AOL network nationally. Each candidate for political office will be given up to 10 minutes of uninterrupted time to present their platform for voters to view on their local Patch page, helping them to be more educated and better aware of the issues and what differentiates each candidate. McCrudden says, “I wanted to create an environment where every candidate, regardless of party affiliation, can speak directly to the electorate and let them know what they stand for. Politics in America has become far too polarized and really become a choice between the lesser of two evils, as they say. What I am hoping Candidates Speak® does is even the playing field for all candidates and enables them to add to the political debate in America, while educating voters on what the real issues are.” said McCrudden Levy calls Candidates Speak® the “anti sound bite.” Most people will recognize Levy’s name as the County Executive for Suffolk County from 2004 to 2011. As a candidate and office holder, Levy knows all too well that most of the information that is distributed to voters comes in the form of short quotes in the local newspaper and occasionally on a TV interview. “The voting public rarely gets to know a candidate’s full platform. They hear sound bites and read a few quotes in the newspaper, or read a piece of literature they get in the mail and think that defines the candidate. Candidates Speak empowers candidates to define themselves on their own term” says Levy. “For the first time to my knowledge voters will get to hear candidates present themselves and what they stand for, uninterrupted and unedited,” concluded Levy. McCrudden is President of Motivate America, where the company motto is, “take action to make things happen.” So, as he has done in the past, he has taken action and created a solution that he and Levy hope will change the political landscape in America.
