New BDM Appointed At Pacific International Cairns

Sept. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Joanne has previously held a role at the Pacific International Cairns as the sales manager.

Welcoming her appointment, executive director Paul Kamsler said he was delighted Joanne had taken on the newly created role of business development manager.

“Her appointment reflects the Pacific International Cairns’ commitment to working closely with existing and new clients and in the process developing a trusted business development role.

“Joanne brings with her a wealth of industry experience and understanding of not only our business but also of the tourism industry and the service component of the client relationship.”

With more than 20 years experience in sales, marketing and product management, Joanne’s experience ranges from project management roles in the tourism industry to corporate sales management roles including five years with Worldspan, the Global Distribution System for TWA, Northwest and Delta Airlines.

Since arriving in Cairns six years ago, Joanne has worked in the conferencing and events industry, first as the sales and events coordinator with Rydges and most recently as the conference sales manager at the five star Pullman Reef Hotel Casino.

She said she was looking forward to reconnecting with past customers, meeting new ones and introducing the Pacific International Cairns’ beautifully refurbished product to the local market and beyond.

“The hotel has always enjoyed a reputation for stellar catering and exceptional service and now with the completion of a five year, $20 million dollar refurbishment, we have stunning facilities and event spaces.

“I am thrilled that the designers have succeeded in creating a unique, contemporary look while still maintaining the historic character of the hotel.
